Summary : Geography develops an epistemological reflection on society and their territories. Through the currents of social and cultural geography, the links between knowledge and their territories are scrutinized. This article examines these various epistemological anchors, which are widely represented in reflections on methods, values and goals of education for environment and sustainable development. This analysis enables us to propose a typology of theoretical approaches on the emerging issue of territorial education.
